Well if the reigning queen of all things stylish Victoria Beckham has one, then I want one too. No, I’m not talking about her husband, I’m talking her Range Rover.
Now although I would never have considered driving or buying a royal RR before, mostly because a) I couldn’t afford one and b) I thought a Range Rover, like Beckham, was way out of my league; the Range Rover Sport has won me over like a Manchester United game.
What I loved about the Range Rover Sport was not only the instant celebrity factor that comes with driving this baby around town (I seriously had a number of “What are you looking at?” moments at the lights before I realised sadly the attention wasn’t all about me); but also the RRS’s ability to tick all of my personal lifestyle boxes. Like, I’m talking every single one. Plenty of storage? Tick. Loads of room? Tick. Easy vision, reverse camera and front-parking sensors? Yepo. Makes me look and feel a million bucks? You betcha.
Being a busy Mum of two with one on the way, the RRS fit me like a Prada glove. It’s the little things in this rather large car that made all the difference for me – think a keyless pushbutton start, an easy-to-lift and open boot with split window entry, a heated leather steering wheel, a seriously cool Harman Kardon stereo, an oh-so-simple to navigate (while I’m trying to navigate) seven-inch touch screen sat nav system, Bluetooth and iPod integration and, best of all, two inbuilt television screens for the kids in the rear that even picked up local digital channels and came with headphones. Somebody pinch me.
Being such a large car, I imagined it to be difficult to steer and park, yet it was surprisingly light and responsive; the seating was extremely comfy, the centre console was practical, well designed and positioned and best of all, the car even lowered Snoop Dog-video-gangster-style allowing my 5-foot nothing legs to comfortably hit the ground when exiting the vehicle. Like I said, it’s the little things…
