Review by Georgia Dawes.

Three words to describe the Peugeot 3008?

Adventurous, smart, fun.

What was your first impression of the new Peugeot 3008?

Captain Cook, Sir Edmund Hilary, Peugeot 3008. This car is an adventurer, a stylish and compact SUV that can climb every mountain and cruise along every windy road with style and ease.

The Peugeot 3008 combines the best features of a small car (think: easy to park) with the best features of a large car (more space for all your friends).

What about the interior?

The Peugeot 3008 is the kind of car you get into and all the features are where they should be (well, everything except the sides of the blinkers and windscreen wipers... the new signal for turning left is windscreen wipers on hehe – European style).

When you’re in the driver’s seat of the 3008, you really are in the driver’s seat! You will feel in control, safe and comfortable.

The Peugeot 3008 has some serious interior style! With leather seating, the interior of the Peugeot 3008 has strong aeronautical overtones... hello Captain! – making switches easyto find and look great.

How’s the drive?

The Peugeot 3008 has you covered from rocky mountains and gravel-ly roads, to snow-covered, slippery streets. Thank you grip control and electronic stability! The Peugeot 3008 is steady on most road conditions, so wherever you’re going – the 3008 can take you there with ease! (You will never have to get out and push this car on tough terrain!)

Being in the driver’s seat of the Peugeot 3008 really makes you feel in control of the car and it really does give you fantastic road visibility.

What are the funkiest features of the new Peugeot 3008?

  • Shopping bag hooks
  • Distance alert
  • Digital, clearly visible speedometer
  • Automatic handbrake
  • Ipod connectivity
  • Passenger entertainment systems
  • Oh, and did I mention seat warmers?! Say goodbye to a cold bottom when you get in your car this winter.

It’s gorgeous and stylish, but is it safe?

With a 5-star Ancap rating, you literally can’t get any safer than the Peugeot 3008.

On top of the usual features (air bags and seat belts), the 3008 has an inbuilt pedestrian beam. Not only does this create safe driving for the car’s occupants by creating less of an impact on collision, the pedestrian beam also means that in the event of a pedestrian collision, the impact felt by the pedestrian will be significantly less! Everyone really is much safer with the Peugeot 3008. Also, with added stiffeners in the doors, the Peugeot 3008 keeps you even safer from impact.

The automatic hand brake also increases vehicle safety. No longer will you forget to put the hand brake on and start rolling down the hill! Thank you Peugeot 3008!

The Peugeot 3008 is also very safe for families. With 3 rear-seat child restraints, the 3008 will be safe for your whole family (no matter how small they are).

Fuel economy, & prices from...

  • 3008 XSE 1.6 turbo automatic: $39,977 (7.7 litres of fuel per km. Combined cycle)
  • 3008 XSE HDi 1.6 turbo diesel EGC (electronic gearbox control): $40,492 (4.9 L / 100km)
  • 3008 XSE HDi 2.0 turbo diesel automatic: $43,582 (6.6 L / 100km)
  • 3008 XTE 1.6 turbo automatic: $43,582 (7.8 L / 100km)
  • 3008 XTE HDi 1.6 turbo diesel EGC: $44,097 (5.1 L / 100km)
  • 3008 XTE HDi 2.0 turbo diesel automatic: $47,187 (6.7 L / 100km)

Colours

The Peugeot 3008 is available in 9 different colours (from silver to black to red) to ensure there’s a colour to suit everyone. And just like every well-designed must-have accessory, the Peugeot 3008’s exterior colours are beautifully matched with its interior colours.

Space and storage?

Interior flexibility – the Peugeot 3008 will fit even the most oddly shaped items in it! Think:

  • Shopping bag hooks
  • Front and rear door storage
  • Centre console storage department
  • Rear centre arm rest with storage space and two drink holders
  • The 3008 has room for you, your family and/or friends and your shopping (even on shopping spree day), pram, surf board… the list goes on.

If personified, who would the Peugeot 3008 be?

Jessica Watson! Because like Jessica, the Peugeot 3008 is adventurous, smart and fun.
