Three words to describe the Hyundai ix35?
Athletic, sophisticated and stylish.
What was your first impression of the new Hyundai ix35?
The ix35 is the SUV redefined. It's the family car that's sporty enough to be a man's best friend and chic enough to be a woman's stylish significant other. It's big, bold and sporty but with large amounts of style and class.
What about the interior?
The ix35 has luxurious leather seating and blue instrumental lighting. It's really roomy, and comfort is its middle name. Seating 5 people comfortably, the ix35 has arm rests, cupholders, plenty of leg room and a very spacious boot.
How's the drive?
Not only does the ix35 look beautiful (and will go with any outfit you choose to wear while driving it) but like all objects of great design, whether it's your new pair of Jimmy Choo shoes or Chloe handbag, it works and functions beautifully too.
Whether you're driving to a work meeting in the city or visiting friends up the coast for the weekend, the handling of the ix35 is accurate and the ride is comfortable on a variety of road conditions - the ix35 feels like it can drive itself (but don't try this at home).
This car has a lot of grunt. It's a car not to be messed with on the road. Steep hills on an open road are a breeze to get up and the break system is so efficient that it makes a sudden break feel smooth yet instant.
The steering is also precise and smooth; and the engine is so quiet it won't even wake a sleeping baby.
What are the funkiest features of the new Hyundai ix35?
Audio junkies will love the ix35's AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio system with 6 speakers, including AUX and USB inputs as standard equipment.
Sportaholics - whether they love bike riding, paddling or snowboarding - are all catered for with roof racks attached to all Hyundai ix35s.
Film buff? The ix35 has you covered too. The ix35 has a DVD entertainment system with integrated Nintendo and Sony Play station compatibility to ensure the drive is even more entertaining.
Storage
ix35 has 19 different storage options, including:
• Console storage tray

• 2 front seat drink holders
• 2 rear centre armrest drink holders
• 4 bottle holders – one in each door
• Four map pockets – one in each door

It's gorgeous and stylish but is it safe?
The ix35, if driven safely, is a very safe car. But to make it super-safe, it also includes:
ABS, EBD, TCS, ESC, DBC and also HAC. Or in other words, anti-skid breaking system, electronic brake force distribution (which will create greater control for you when braking), traction control system (which will limit tyre slip when accelerating on wet surfaces - goodbye burn-outs), downhill break control and hill start assist control.
The Hyundai ix35 also includes dual front, side and curtain airbags, retractable seatbelts for all occupants and head rests.
Will your wallet love this car as much as you do?
The ix35 includes a trip computer, which provides the driver with important information such as distance to empty, average fuel consumption and instant fuel economy.
Also, with the inclusion of a rear spoiler, the aerodynamics of the ix35 have improved and less fuel is consumed (2.0 petrol 4WD: 8.5 litres per 100km for manual and auto models; 2.4 petrol AWD uses 9.2 litres per 100km; and the diesel model uses 7.5 litres per 100km).)
With fuel efficiency like that, it's no wonder the environment loves this car as much as your wallet does.
