Women of Style 2012

We women are pretty amazing. Just look how far we’ve come since our bra burning days. We’re earning more university degrees, running businesses, casting votes, breaking records and even sitting in the top seat down there in Parliament House. Single-mums are starting companies, young women are saving the world and we’re doing all this while being undeniably, irrefutably stylish. And I’m not just talking about what we wear to work.

To recognise how absolutely fabulous we are as females, Audi and InStyle magazine are dishing up Women of Style 2012 - a celebration of the ladies who are doing the sisterhood proud and wearing their ‘I Am Woman’ badge with bravado. Audi and InStyle are challenging our, sometimes skewed, perception of what a woman of style is by reinforcing the attributes we should truly consider stylish – grace, intelligence and compassion.

Over 80 women have been honoured since the awards begun and this year a new cohort will be inducted into the halls of female fame. They will join the likes of 2011 winners Kylie Minogue, Lisa Ho, Miranda Otto, Pandora’s Karin Adcock and OzHarvest’s Ronni Kahn, leading ladies in the fields of business, entertainment, charity and arts.

But Women of Style isn’t just about the women we see positioned within the pages of the newspaper. You have the opportunity to throw your hat in the ring and be publicly recognised as a woman of style yourself. Audi and InStyle’s 2012 Style Scholarship is a $10,000 grant to help an everyday woman (like you!) fund a career in the beauty, lifestyle, fashion, charity, entertainment or arts industries. It’s a nationwide search and you can nominate yourself or a friend by filling out the entry form and a 150 word explanation why your endeavour deserves the doe. Who knows? Maybe Audi and InStyle will be toasting to you this year? We’ll definitely cheers to that!
