Finally, we are proud to announce the winners of the AutoChic Car of the Year Awards for women!

Yes, the girls of Australia have spoken, voting and recommending their favorite vehicles in each of five categories including the Best First Car, the Most Wanted Car, the Sexiest Girl's Car, the Best Car for a Girl on a Budget, and the Best Car for Mums (aka the best yummy-mummy mobile).

Over the past six months we have seen great prizes given away, found ourselves glued to tallying the latest results (cheering and egging on our favorites) and now, thanks to you, we have compiled the most comprehensive online guide to 'what women want' – in a car, at least! Thanks to all who voted!

The Greenest Car for Women Award – The Fiat 500

BP Renewables was honored to help choose the 2008 AutoChic Greenest Car award. The decision was based on greenhouse gas emissions, fuel-economy tests, and other specifications reported by the auto manufacturers and as a result, BP Renewables is excited to announce that the Fiat 500 is this year's winner.

The Safest Car for Women Award – The Renault Megane

The safest car for women was decided by automotive industry consultant, freelance journalist and features editor for Wheels magazine, and avid safety advocate John Cadogan. His choice for the safest car is the stylish and safe Renault Megane.

According to John, "The Megane has an extremely impressive active and passive safety package at a sharp price point. It's a very safe car that won't break the bank. Crash avoidance capability is part of Renaults DNA and the Megane is extremely good at protecting you if you do crash." The Megane has been awarded a five-star safety rating by EuroNCAP.

AutoChic's Car of Choice – The Kia Rondo

The girls at AutoChic test-drive cars on a regular basis from a female point of view, and when it came to our car of choice for the year, the decision was unanimous – the Kia Rondo. "The Rondo is a great value for money given it is a seven-seater; and for the price, the Rondo drives like a dream," says Juliet. "This is a car I would consider buying."
