It's Red Undies Week

Okay, ladies (and gents, kids, grandparents, godparents, aunts, uncles, bros and gal pals – this is a blanket announcement).

Take this moment (yes, you can leave the computer as long as you come straight back!) to head to your undies drawer and pull out your brightest pair of red underpants. Whether they be Bonds, boxers or the demure cotton tail - put those babies on!

Why? Because this week is Red Undies Week and by wearing your flashiest fire-engine under-grunds, you are supporting the fight against kidney disease.

Each year, this silent-killer claims more Aussie lives than car accidents, suicide and breast cancer and is the 10th leading cause of deaths in our fine country. 1 in 3 Australians are at increased risk of developing kidney disease and you can lose up to 90 percent of your kidney function before symptoms even begin. It’s scary stuff.

But by wearing your boldest butt-huggers, you can help give kidney disease the exposure it deserves. You’ll be joining forces with The First Bloke – Tim Mathieson, Tyler Atkins, Kerri-Anne Kennerley, Charlie Brown, Melissa Hoyer, Shelly Horton, Mike Goldman and Lola Van Vorst. Now that’s keeping good company!

So step into your red underwear or get creative with your chosen red undergarment (just keep it PG, people) and take a picture of yourself! Then head to the Red Undies Week Facebook page or Twitter (#RedUndiesWeek) and post your snap. All the celebs are doing it....

For more information or to check your kidneys with the online test, visit Red Undies Week or Check My Kidneys.
