A Discount Not Worth Saving

We women know it’s hard not to pass up on a bargain, be it fashion or fuel. But with Woolworth’s recent discount connecting booze and the bowser, at what price does saving a few pennies cost?
Sure, we'd all like to have a little more left over in our coupon-filled wallets, but buying alcohol to cut the cost of filling up the car is not responsible any way you cut it.
In the latest catalogue released by Woolworths, customers are offered a fuel discount with the purchase of two cases of beer or pre-mix drinks. Customers save 30 cents a litre, a discount which is above what is usually offered.
We know all too well that drinking and driving don’t mix in any context, a message hit home by the Australian Automobile Association (AAA). They too are concerned by the grocery giant’s link between drinking and driving, especially given the proximity to the holiday season. While the Christmas trees might be packed away and the buzz of holidays subdued as the back-to-school mayhem beings, our roads are still a dangerous place for drivers, even without alcohol.
Note to Woolworths; we’re all in favor of a Friday night drink and kicking up ones Jimmy Choo heels, but not at the cost of endangering lives with this drinking and driving discount.
Tsk tsk, Woolworths. Tsk tsk. Curtis Stone has never looked so good.
