Yet Another Token Gesture?

Everywhere you look these days, brands are collaborating with fashion designers. Who can blame them? Whacking a fancy designer name beside an average brand does wonders for sales. Think Target and Stella McCartney and overseas; H&M with pretty much everybody.

Surprisingly, car manufacturer Hyundai hasn’t been one to shy away from the trend and recently – for what appears to be the second time - collaborated with home-grown designer Charlie Brown for this year’s Australian International Motor Show.

Charlie Brown specifically designed a number dresses that were either draped over the Hyundais or worn by ex Miss Universe Australia Laura Dundovic and other models as they strutted their stuff down a catwalk.

The dresses were lovely but the point of the whole exercise escapes me. Rev heads are now going to go out and buy Charlie Brown gowns, is that correct? What do you think?
