Michael Jackson Oil Painting on Show in Dealership

A car dealer and Michael Jackson fan has delighted luxury car owners with a rarely seen portrait of MJ on show in his car dealership in New York.

Co-owners Rick Kaplan and Marty Abrams from Dancy-Power Automotive Group in Harlem say the oil paining titled ‘The Book’ is the only portrait Jackson ever sat for due to a friendship with the Aussie painter Brett-Livingstone Strong. They bought the 40” x 50” painting from the painter in 1990 for $2.1 million!

So why the celebrity tie-in? The dealership sells luxury cars to US stars such as Wyclef Jean, Damon Dash and Derek Ward – just on an average day at the office.

The seriously suave dealership client list reads like a proverbial ‘who’s who’ of New York. So who-knew selling cars could be so chic?
