We can't get enough of Honda's Super Bowl send-up of the cult classic, Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Today's generation might not get it, but let's face it, they don't get hypercolour T-Shirts or Rick Astley either.
The release of the ad, which is going viral amongst 80s fanatics and YouTube trawlers, is set to feature in the 2011 Super Bowl this February. The hoo-ha is doing wonders for Honda and their promotion of the CRV which features in the advertisement along with Ferris himself, Matthew Broderick.
He may have a few more silver hairs than the last time he paraded down the main street, but after living with three kids and Sarah Jessica Parker, you can't really blame him.
It seems like Honda has a fixation on bringing back the 80's (and who wouldn't with all that white washed denim). They've also recruited Jerry Seinfeld and resurrected the Soup Nazi to sell the high-end Honda brand, Acura. It's a 60 second commercial which shows Jerry trying to bribe the rights for the first 2015 Acura NSX Supercar.
But as always, it's 'no supercar for you!'.
As Aussies, we don't really tune into the Super Bowl but with Madonna shaking her ta-tas during the half time entertainment and so much 80s appreciation, we just might have to make it a date. Now where did I put those legwarmers...
