Hyundai Car Art

26-October-2010

Local Sydney artists painted an all-new Hyundai i20 and matching mural over 3 days in an underground workspace in Sydney. Using aerosol paint only, artists Beastman & Numskull's collaboration of the 2 distinct styles sees bright colours and organic patterns illustrate nature morphing with an exciting urban lifestyle.

The idea behind the work reflects the bright, youthful lifestyle depicted the within the 'Going Places' marketing campaign used to launch the i20 onto the Australian market in July 2010. The signature 'eye' graphic from the artist represents the 'i' in i20.

The 2 artists brought together their experiences of youth culture, music, skate-lifestyle, comic and graffiti-art to create an engaging work.

Beastman

Sydney based artist Beastman draws influence from nature, using tightly detailed repetitive geometric patterns representing an eternal struggle against man-made adversities. Exhibiting in London, Berlin and throughout Australia and New Zealand, Beastman is a published artist and has curated exhibitions and events, designed skateboards and created works for international brands such as Element, Folklore, Mingo Lamberti and Lowlife of London.

Numskull

With a background in graffiti, comic, cartoon and street art, Sydney based artist Numskull has become renowned for his unique mix of pop iconography and stencil figures which explore love, hate, mystery and fantasy. With no formal art education and using screen-print, stencil and paintbrushes his work is original, humorous and often controversial.
