Fans of Evanovich are in for a treat – new characters, new locations and we welcome back Diesel, Wulf and Carl the Monkey.
In Salem, Massachusetts, Lizzy Tucker works as a pastry chef and is known for her fabulous cupcakes. Lizzy works for Clara Dazzle in her bakery, simply known as ‘Dazzles’ along with Gloria, a shop assistant who becomes fascinated with spells, brooms, ghosts and rescuing animals. She ends up with Cat 7143 – one eyed and half-tailed and has to give it to Lizzy. But is there something special about this cat and is it coincidence that Lizzy is now her owner?
In Marblehead, just south-east of Salem, Lizzy has inherited a house from her Great-Aunt Ophelia. What she doesn’t know is that her house is part of the ‘Spook’ tour, she is a descendent of witches and she is an Unmentionable. In fact, she isn’t even aware on unmentionables. That is until Diesel arrives and needs her help.
There are 7 stones of power all relating to the seven deadly sins and the recently deceased Phil More held 4 charms that when put together would open a box that contained the stone representing gluttony. Only Lizzy can find the charms using her ‘unmentionable’ power with Diesel’s help and protection.
Uncle Phil left 4 inheritances with a warning never to speak of them. But there seems to be one thing in common with the relatives that have received an inheritance – they have become gluttons – for food, punishment, possessions and children. In a race to beat Wulf, Diesel and Lizzy must try to find the charms and retrieve the stone, but with Diesel guarding Lizzy night and day, things can be a little distracting.
The 7 Deadly Sins are pride, greed, lust, envy wrath, sloth and gluttony. That pretty much covers everything that is wicked. Diesel thinks it also pretty much covers everything that's fun. A new ‘Unmentionable’ series is just what Evanovich fans need and if holding the stone of Gluttony made Lizzy want EVERYTHING, what is going to happen when she has to help gorgeous Diesel locate the other stones?
