Reach the Beach - Less the Car-Drama

It’s a stinking hot day, your make-up is running, your hair is sticking to your face, so you’ve decided to pack up and hit the beach to cool down. Fab idea. What aint so fab however is if your car breaks down on the way. On the side of the road. In the ridiculously hot sun. Not. Fab. At. All.
So how do you prevent summer-car-drama?
TO AVOID SUMMER-CAR-DRAMA:
• Park your car in the shade as much as you can, and get a windscreen shield
• Check your spare tyre; pack an emergency toolbox; water, and take a charged mobile phone
• Try and schedule your departures in the cooler hours of the day
• Ensure your basics are all sorted – your oil, tyres, and your windshield washer before you leave
• Whilst driving, check your lights and gauges. If the temperature gauge increases at all during your trip – pull over to allow it to cool. An overheated engine will damage your car, and don’t even thinking of touching it (the engine), or the radiator cap – they will cause serious burns
• Make little stops throughout the journey to prevent an overheated engine (and to pick up essential reading material for the beach, of course)
• Do not, under any circumstances leave children, or animals in the car. Inside temps of a parked car can reach 30-40 degrees. Very, very dangerous.
And there you have it. By following the above tips, you’ll get to the beach sand sans summer-car-drama.
Happy swimming/relaxing/gossip-mag reading everyone!
