Honda Brings Earth Dreams to Reality

With a name that sounds like something out of a Steven Spielberg movie, Honda recently announced ‘Earth Dreams’- its next-generation technology set to take fuel efficiency to the next level.

Combining its desire to provide the joy of riding yet also awareness in the need to protect the world around us, Honda has used environmental technologies as a starting point for its forthcoming advancements; improving engine, transmission and electric-powered motor efficiency.

Put simply, ‘Earth Dreams’ is the group name for Honda’s new range of petrol, diesel and hybrid drivetrains. With this range, Honda has set its sights on achieving top-of-the-industry fuel efficiency in every category within three years.

At the same time, Honda has set a timeline of 2020 to reduce CO2 emissions for all products sold worldwide by 30%.Some of the features of the ‘Earth Dreams’ technology include a compact diesel engine that nabs the title of world’s lightest body, a two-motor hybrid system linked directly to a CVT (continuously variable transmission) for easier stop-starting in traffic and a powertrain for electric cars.
